Linking your Web SIte

My web site is finally done. The problem is linking to the web pages on the internet when you cant use the internet when viewing it from CD. So here is what you do:
1. Go the web site, on-line and open a page you want.
2. Click Page Button, top right.
3. Save as
4. Call it a name you will remember
5. Put it in the same folder that you will use for the kompozer web site.
6. Save it as a HTML file. Now it should be on your hard drive.
7. Open up your website creating program. Kompozer.
8. Highlite the words that you want to be linked to the website you just saved
9. Right click on them.
10. Choose link properties
11. Then you have to find that file you just saved using the folder icon or browse option.
12. If you cant find it, save again in different spot. But make sure all your links are in same folder. If they arent and you go to save to a disk, your web site wont work.
13. If that doesnt work for you, you might have to cut and paste to word doc then have link to the word doc.
I hope this helps you.

I see the light at the....

Its Sunday and my goal today is to finish up with all my assignments. I have only worked 5 days in the last two weeks due to sickness and snow days, so you would think that I would be done with everything. I guess I didnt manage my time very well. Its not as bad as I am making it out to be. All I have left to do is the wiki and the web-site. The two most time consuming ones.

The wiki site is the most confusing. I am not sure exactly what he wants. Does he want our opinions, our definitions, or how it affects us as educators. Any ideas?

The CSS web page creation is coming along ok, but it took forever to figure it out. I had to do alot of research on the web.

Thank god for snow day.

I just found out we have another snow day tomorrow. So I am staying up late taking care of my class stuff. I having a hard figuring out Kompozer and not sure what I have to use it for. Is this for my assignments to go on or just to play with. Who knows.

Today in school I started to teach my tech lesson plan. The pre-assesment went well. They caught on. It was awsome. SO then we went down to the computer lab/library to do the on-line portion. I got them all logged on the blackboard after spending the night before setting up the accounts. No problem there either. They actually were all able to log in. It was great. Then they went to the assignment button and down loaded it, no problem. Then they went to the link and then it went down hill. The web site has a Java applet. Well no one tells me that students are not able to down load applets. Well shoot. So here we go, doing it by hand. I was irritated and I told the tech guy to fix it. We will see. No school tomorrow so we will pick it back up on Friday.

Now that you completed the on-line lab, answer the following and post them here.
1. What is the relationship between potential and kinetic energy of an object falling?
2. What is the answer to number 11 from lab sheet?
3. What is the advantage of doing this lab on-line compared to hands on?
4. What is the disadvantage of doing this lab on-line compared to hands on?

SNOW DAY BABY.

Well this week I only 2 days out of the five. I had a sick tuesday and thursday and today is a snow day. Who loves snow days more, the students or the teachers. I cant do much today any way. I have a bad sinus infection. I was out for the count yesterday. All I did was sleep. Today I am getting more done for the the class assighments and trying to keep my kids from killing each other. I would send them outside but my son is sick also. So I guess we will just have to get along.

I started the WIKI assighnment but not quite sure how to begin. Maybe I am thinking to hard about it.

First Entry

This is my first Blog .YEAH. I am officially a blogger. Dont know what to expect or what happens next. I will just put ideas here and wait for feedback.
This could be a great tool for other teacher inputs.
So I will start by saying. "We are half-way through the year!!!!"
Exams are starting soon and In my physics class they are doing demonstrations that they have to search on their own and come up with the concepts and equations that are need to calculate the final result.
So far they are pretty excited about doing them and from what I can tell, most will be well done. Any other teachers do projects for exams, if so, how do you grade them? I do have rubric that includes writting a small paper, calculations, and a audience feedback. I am worried that they are just going to do the demo and copy down what they saw on the internet and not totally understand whats going on.
Any Thoughts?
